Further details of Thai spec 2017 Honda CR-V confirmed – Push button gear selector

Set for an official Thai debut at the end of this month, details of the upcoming 2017 Honda CR-V are slowly emerging.

Thanks to headlightmag forum, they have released further details of the upcoming fifth-generation Honda CR-V.

For the diesel-equipped models, Honda will be equipping push button gear selectors, first making its appearance on the Japanese Honda Accord Hybrid. On the other hand, the petrol-powered Honda CR-V is expected to receive the regular knob-type gear selector. Electric parking brake is likely to be standard across the lineup.

Leather upholstery finished in black is standard on the range-topping 4WD model, on top of the LED headlights, LED tail lights, touchscreen infotainment system and power adjustable front seats. Thailand is also the first market globally to receive the seven-seater layout.

As reported earlier, theThai spec fifth-generation Honda CR-V will receive two engines at launch, namely a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated i-VTEC that does 175 hp and 225 Nm and a 1.6-litre turbodiesel i-DTEC that churns out 160 hp and 350 Nm. The petrol engine is mated to CVT-type automatic transmission whilst the diesel is paired to a nine-speed automatic that drives either the front wheels or all four wheels.

In terms of positioning and variants, Honda Thailand will be offering four variants of the 2017 CR-V. The diesel and petrol engines can be had in either 2WD or 4WD formats.
