Continuing the overwhelming success of the all-new tenth-generation Honda Civic and in response to customer demand, Honda has introduced the Civic 5-door hatchback for the Thai market.
In Thailand, the Honda Civic 5-door hatchback is offered only in a single choice of powertrain; the company’s 1.5-litre DOHC VTEC TURBO engine, paired to a new Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). The VTEC TURBO engine delivers a total output of 173hp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 220Nm at 1,700 to 5,500 rpm. Honda says the performance of the 1.5-litre turbo is comparable to a 2.4-litre engine but with better fuel efficiency equivalent to a 1.8-litre engine.
The Honda Civic 5-door hatchback boasts sporty and sophisticated design details with windswept lines on the sides, front, and back. A beehive grille offers a strong and sporty look, enhanced by sporty-designed headlights with LED daytime running lights and C-shaped LED rear lights.
Despite being a hatchback, the Civic is still able to offers a wide, comfortable cabin for all lifestyle requirements, with a total storage capacity of up to 414-litres. On top of that, the back seat can be fully folded down to increase rear storage space. A retractable cover can be pulled out from a side-mounted cassette easily from either side to secure a bigger storage area.
In addition, a comprehensive range of advanced equipment is also available in the Civic hatchback. This includes a 7-inch Advanced Display Audio with support for Bluetooth and a USB connection which is also compatible with Apple CarPlay (compatible with some smartphones). A TFT Meter with Multi-information Display allows for various features and content to be displayed. The Engine Remote Start takes the convenience factor to a new level, as it allows you to start the engine from an extended range and pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin before you begin your journey.
Advanced safety technologies to ensure safer and more secure driving pleasure include a Multi-angle Rearview Camera, Electric Parking Brake, Auto Brake Hold, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Walk Away Auto Lock, and more.
Available in a choice of five colours namely, Midnight Burgundy Pearl (new), White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, and Lunar Silver Metallic, the Honda Civic 5-door hatchback retails for 1,169,000 baht, which is equivalent to RM147,364 based on Malaysia current exchange rates. Unfortunately, Honda M’sia has no plans to bring the 5-door hatchback variant in here.
