Hyundai Sime-Darby Motors is said to be launching the all-new 2017 Hyundai Elantra as soon as April, offering two engine choices when it arrives.
The all-new Elantra was spied back in January, confirming that HSDM will introduce two engine choices, which includes a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre paired to a six-speed automatic and a hotter 1.6-litre T-GDI engine. The latter is exclusively for the Elantra Sport only, boasting 201 hp and 260 Nm. We understood that the hotter Elantra Sport is likely to be offered with the company’ seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Additionally, prices could start from the RM100,000 mark for the entry-level 2017 Elantra, before moving up to north of RM130,000 for the hotter Elantra Sport.
What do you think? Does Hyundai Sime-Darby Motors have a winner on their hand? We reckon that the Elantra Sport can potentially carve its own niche, as it does offer more horsepower and torque than nearly all its rivals, including the Honda Civic and Volkswagen Jetta.
