2017 Volkswagen Tiguan teased on official site, launch imminent?

The launch of the 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan could happen sooner than expected, as the teaser is already up on Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM)’s official site.

From the teaser images, we can now be certain of some of the Tiguan’s new features. For example, at least one variant of the Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to get LED daytime running lights (DRLs) with LED headlights on the outside, coupled with 18-inch Kingston alloy wheels. These wheels were earlier spotted on test mules here. Earlier when Tiguan was spotted for the first time ever, the mule was wearing 17-inch Montana alloy wheels, suggesting the VPCM could offer at least two variants of the Tiguan. Furthermore, both mules has different headlights, with the former featuring what appears to be LED units whilst the latter had halogen units.

Moving inside, it appears that some variants of the Volkswagen Tiguan will receive the same Active Info Display just like its bigger sibling, the Passat. Apart from that, the Tiguan is also likely to receive Park Assist and tri-zone climate control. Infotainment is possibly backed by Volkswagen’s Composite Media System with an 8-inch display. Expect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as well.

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Tiguan with the 280 TSI badge is likely to draw its power from a 1.4-litre TSI engine that does 150 hp and 250 Nm, possibly sending drive to the front wheels via the company’s six-speed wet clutch DSG.
