Toyota was once again named by business magazine Fortune as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies for the third consecutive year. Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list recognized Toyota as No.34 among the Top 50 All-Star companies surveyed and also ranks Toyota as the No. 1 brand in the industry for the third time.
Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list is widely acknowledged as the definitive report card on corporate reputation and is based on company surveys and industry peer ratings from senior executives, directors and industry analysts. For each company, the survey measures 9 attributes considered critical to a company’s global success, including quality of products and services, social and environmental responsibility, global competitiveness, and value as an investment, among others.
Toyota is one of only two automakers that made it in the top 50 list. Besides Toyota, BMW took the No.21 spot, sitting above Toyota but ranks No.2 in Industry just behind Toyota. However, both automakers dropped from their previous ranking last year with Toyota and BMW sitting at No.28 and No.18 respectively.
Surprisingly, no other automakers made it in the top 50 list this year where Apple, Amazon.com and Starbucks topping the rankings.
