Sepang International Circuit (SIC) has received the ISO 20121:2012 Sustainable Events Management System certification from BSI, the pioneering international business standards and accreditation organisation. SIC is the first company in Malaysia to receive this certification from BSI Malaysia.

The ISO 20121:2012 international standard was first launched at the 2012 London Olympics. Its innovative design aims to improve sustainability in event management through the reduction of costs, carbon emissions and waste. It also offers a platform to help event organisers identify potentially negative social, economic and environmental impacts resulting from events.

“This new accreditation will give SIC another advantage to appeal to environmentally-conscious clients and partners who prioritise sustainability in their events, and will elevate our circuit premises as a venue of choice. We are proud to be the first Malaysian company to be awarded the ISO 20121:2012 Sustainable Events Management System certification by BSI Malaysia. This is an important milestone for us as a multi-faceted events venue and I would like to thank the team for their dedication in making this possible,” said Dato’ Razlan Razali, Chief Executive Officer of Sepang International Circuit.

SIC also holds OHSAS 18001:2007 certification for occupational health and safety management systems and ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality management systems.
