Spied! 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport spotted in France!

Suzuki’s fourth-generation Swift was officiated just before the end of 2016, featuring the Swift RSt being the hottest variant. So where’s the venerable Swift Sport?

Thanks to these spyshots, we can confirm that the Swift Sport is far from dead, as the company is currently testing a hotter version of the new Swift. These spyshots were taken in Morainvilliers, France.

Though the test mule here features extensive camouflage, we can spot the Swift Sport’s heavily revised front bumper, large alloy wheels and twin mufflers towards the rear. Other sites also reckoned that the new Swift Sport could receive a new pair of headlights and tail lights.

For the first time ever, it appears that Suzuki could be offering the Swift Sport with a variety of engines, including a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder mill and a hybrid variant, though the source believes that most international markets will receive the 1.4-litre Boosterjet that does 138 hp and 220 Nm. In the past, the Swift Sport was powered by a high-revving 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated mill that churned out 130 hp and 160 Nm. Like before, expect the Swift Sport to feature a manual and CVT-type automatic.
