The forthcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Mitsubishi is set to debut an all-new compact SUV that will line up alongside the Mitsubishi ASX and Mitsubishi Outlander.
Mitsubishi doesn’t have much to say about this new coupe-like SUV but hints that the name of the new SUV long associated with stylish, tough and extremely capable SUVs and 4X4s. Challenger maybe? Rumours have it that it will likely be called the Eclipse.
Sharper in its expression than a conventional coupe, this new, compact SUV will feature highly chamfered contours with a wedge-shaped belt line and a distinctive V-line in the rear quarter stemming from the forward-slanted C-pillar and the chunky, muscular rear fenders.
The engine lineup should include a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit, mated to a CVT and AWD, along with a 2.2-litre diesel, which will be paired with a 6-speed manual and FWD. Other powertrains will join the lineup later on, and some sort of electrification is expected as well.
