Just a few days after revealing the 2018 Ford Mustang facelift, Ford has followed up with an unveiling of the equally-refreshed, 2018 Ford Mustang convertible, catered for those who would much rather enjoy their ponies on the open road with the top down.
Just like the coupe, the Mustang convertible delivers a host of improvements, including new technology and design changes that give owners more ways than ever to customize the car to their preferences. There are 3 new paint colours namely, Kona Blue, Orange Fury, and Royal Crimson and 12 distinct wheel choices for buyers to choose from.
The 2018 Mustang Convertible now features a more athletic stance, with new front and rear end design that deliver a leaner, meaner look and refined aerodynamics. The only differences between the coupe and the convertible are at the back where the deck lid is flatter to create a place for storing the roof when the top is down. The trunk opening also looks like it might be slightly smaller than on the coupe, too.
Under the hood, The 2018 Mustang Convertible gets all the upgrades from the coupe. It is offered in either a 2 .3-liter EcoBoost engine and 5.0-liter V8 upgrades, along with an all-new available 10-speed automatic transmission for even better performance. The new MagneRide suspension offers optimum handling in all driving conditions, while an optional active valve exhaust gives buyers a complete auditory control of the Mustang.
In terms of safety, the 2018 Mustang Convertible benefits from a vast array of Ford driver-assist technology. This includes features such as Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection, distance alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist and Driver Alert System.
Just like the coupe, the 2018 Mustang Convertible will go on sale in North America in September this year.
