Nissan Motor Thailand unveiled the updated Nissan Note in the kingdom a couple of days ago, and it seems that the boss of Nissan Indonesia is keen to bring the Note into Indonesia.

By taking advantage of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) program, the Nissan Note will be challenging the likes of the Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris in Indonesia. The Indonesian spec Nissan Note, when it arrives, is expected to utilize the same 1.5-litre engine that powers the Nissan Juke and Nissan Grand Livina, instead of the 1.2-litre found in the Thai spec Note.

In Thailand, the updated Nissan Note is generously loaded with safety equipment, which includes around view monitor, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). Other safety features for the Nissan Note includes dual front airbags and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) for all variants.

However, don’t hold your breath for a Malaysian debut. The Nissan Note was teased by Edaran Tan Chong Motor a couple of times before, though it is extremely unlikely the Nissan Note will be offered here officially. On a side note, ETCM could introduce an updated Nissan Almera with stability control in the near future.
