Last week, Kia dropped some teaser of its all-new Picanto, slated to be launched some time next year.
Called the Kia Morning in its home market, the new Kia Picanto gets a sportier outlook whilst keeping overall package compact.
TheKoreanCarBlog managed to scoop Kia’s newest model ahead of its official debut, as someone managed to snap two photos of the undisguised model in South Korea.
Unlike other companies, the actual model looks remarkably similar to the teaser, with Kia’s signature tiger grille making a return. The grille is flanked by a pair of sharper headlights with LED daytime running lights. Below the tiger nose grille is an aggressive air dam with a pair of fog lights at each end. The white Picanto gets green highlights, which gives the little hatchback a unique contrast.
The green theme continues on the side with the same highlights found on the side skirts. Though there are no photos of the new model’s rear end, we can expect to see similar green highlights on the rear bumper, much like the teaser image Kia released. As the Picanto pictured here features a sunroof, chrome door handles, large alloy wheels and body kit, we are guessing that this is the range-topping variant.
Powertrain details are unknown at this point of time, though it is possible Kia will continue to offer the outgoing model’s 1.25-litre Kappa four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.
