FORMULA 1 - Italian GP

The dominance of Sebastian Vettel and team Red Bull Racing in the pinnacle of motorsports have secured themselves the prestigious Laureus sports award. The young German, who claimed his forth driver’s title last year, has gained a nomination for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year honour. He is expected to compete against athletes Usain Bolt and Mo Farah, basketball player LeBron James, tennis star Rafael Nadal and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo for that honour.

Team Red Bull meanwhile secured a nomination under the category of World Team of the Year, competing against the New Zealand All Blacks, Bayern Munich football team, the Brazilian national football team, Miami Heats and so on. The Laureus World Sports Awards is essentially the Oscars for the sporting world and this year’s awards ceremony will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 26, just in time for the Malaysia F1 race weekend.
