The 7th International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia, better known as IGEM 2016 generated a record RM2.2 billion in business lead throughout the four-day event.
IGEM is organized by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) and co-organized by GreenTech Malaysia. The event surpassed earlier-forecasted and previous years’ records. A total of 350 exhibitors and 419 booths were present, seeing visitors coming from 33 different countries.
Group CEO of GreenTech Malaysia, Ir Ahmad Hadri Haris said, “IGEM 2016 has been the most successful IGEM yet. Despite current global economic uncertainties, it is encouraging to see companies prioritizing investment in green technology, a reflection of the region’s commitment to bolster the green economy.”
For GreenTech Malaysia, the company forged six partnerships, which includes BMW Malaysia and Petronas worth over RM130 million. In addition to that, GreenTech Malaysia also sealed two deals with Asia School of Business and Malaysian Mensa Society to cultivate a green culture amongst the young ones.
IGEM 2017 is expected to be held between 11 and 13 October 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Check out www.igem.my for more info.
