BMW Motorrad have announced a new adventure-tourer bike in their EICMA line-up, named the G310 GS. Based off their 2016 naked bike G310R, the new G310 GS resembles visually similar to the bigger brothers such as the R1200 GS and F800 GS. Making it into the sub-500cc dual-sport adventure category, like Kawasaki and Honda.
This G310 GS adventure bike, just like its brother G310R, will be manufactured and assembled in the same facility in Hosur, India.
While retaining the two piece trellis-frame, the new accessories added are the ever distinctive beak on the front fender, radiator shrouds and the GS decal on the fuel tank.
Furthermore, the engine remains exactly the same as the G310R, 313 cc liquid-cooled DOHC, said to output 34 hp at 9,500 RPM and max torque of 28 Nm at 10,500 RPM, mated to a 6-speed synchromesh gearbox.
In terms of safety, the bike is equipped with ABS that can be switched on/off with a single button on the handlebar. Speaking of which, the cluster meter has tachometer, fuel gauge, speedometer, gear indicator and engine temperature. That’s quite a lot of stuff there.
The lightweight dual-sport adventure-tourer is really the in-thing right now. Enjoy the video and photos:
