Honda Motorcycles has finally debuted their lightweight, low capacity dual-sports adventure bike in Milan at EICMA this year. Based on the originally CRF250L, it has been styled like the Team HRC CRF450 Rally and given an asymmetric headlamp, kind of like BMW’s.
The CRF250L Rally is said to have long-travel suspension and that translates to a taller bike with more ground clearance. To add-on, it also comes with bigger tank size, bigger throttle body (more umph!), intake and exhaust. Furthermore, on the electronics; its ECU is tuned for long rides, thus leading to better fuel efficiency; fuel gauge and tachometer is also a standard in the display panel, you don’t get that in many dirt-bikes.
In aspects for ‘safety’, ABS has also been added, as it is normally equipped on bikes for rally rides, or enduro trails and also a larger floating disc. Not forgetting that the ABS can also be switched on/off.
Small capacity dual-sports adventure bikes are pretty much the in-thing now. Kawasaki and BMW has also announced their 250/300cc dual-sports adventure bike. There are other manufacturers such as KTN that manufactures 250cc dual-sports adventure bike.
I have always been a fan of the CRF series, I sure hope Boon Siew Honda would bring it in officially. Here are more photos from Honda.
