During the official launch of the facelift Isuzu D-Max, Isuzu Malaysia also took the opportunity to debut the special edition 7-seater Isuzu MU-X Type S sport utility vehicle (SUV), which is based on the D-Max platform.
In terms of looks, the MU-X Type S gets new front and rear body colored skirting, rear bumper garnish, Type-S emblem, new shark fin antenna and 17-inch alloy wheel with 255/65R17 tyres.
The SUV is further enhanced with premium features such as push Start/Stop system, Passive Entry and Start System (PESS), new 8-inch display audio system, new e-Lumax meter panel with Multi-Information Display (MID) as well as ivory colour leather seats and armrests.
In terms of safety, Hill Start Assist (HSA) has been incorporated into the vehicle’s safety features as a standard equipment, on top of Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Assist and Dual airbags.
The MU-X Type-S is powered by a sole choice of powertrain; a 2.5 litre turbodiesel producing 136 PS and 320 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift.
As an appreciation to existing MU-X owners, the Isuzu MU-X range, including the new limited edition, MU-X Type S, has been upgraded to a 5-year and unlimited mileage warranty.
Available in 4 choice of colours; Cosmic Black, Splash White, Uluru Brown and Titanium Silver, the Isuzu MU-X Type-S is priced at RM181,840 on-the-road including insurance and GST.
