The announcement by the Prime Minister at the recent 2017 Budget has brought a new excitement for Proton as this is the first time they will be offering a rebate for a collaboration with ride-sharing companies. Proton will be working with ride-sharing companies to help and uplift the livelihood of the B40 (those with household income of up to RM3,855) income earners. In line with the 2017 Budget, a rebate of RM4000 will be provided for individuals who purchase the Proton Iriz as part of their plans to become ride-sharing drivers.
Proton has mentioned that they are thankful to the government with its clear objective to support the national car in its effort to spur the automotive industry as this initiative provides tangible growth and economic opportunities. Proton commended the Malaysian government for this astute, people-centric budget.
