As the premium partner of the CIMB Classic for the 7th year, BMW Group Malaysia recently handed over the keys to a fleet of BMW 740Li, BMW 328i Gran Turismo, BMW X3 xDrive20d and BMW X4 xDrive28i to be utilised as the official cars at the upcoming CIMB Classic 2016.
Ms. Natasha Karim, Head of Marketing BMW Malaysia said, “We are pleased to once again be the official automotive partner of the CIMB Classic tournament this year. Having been the premium automotive partner for the tournament over the last six consecutive years, we at BMW Malaysia believe that the tournament is the most successful and the most prestigious professional tournament for the sport of Golf in the region.”
Ms. Natasha added that the BMW Group has been involved in professional golf since 1989 and continues to be committed to the sport worldwide. She said, “Our commitment to the sport of Golf begins at the amateur level with the BMW Golf Cup International program, the largest and most prestigious amateur golf competition in the world to professional level competitions such the CIMB Classic, the first PGA TOUR-sanctioned event in Southeast Asia. We are represented at all the major golf tournaments the world over.”
The fleet of BMW vehicles will be utilised for the shuttling of all players, officials, as well as VIPs who will be in Malaysia throughout the tournament. Currently, there are 67 players who have committed to the CIMB Classic with a combined 156 PGA TOUR victories, led by World Golf Hall of Fame members Vijay Singh and Ernie Els. Also joining the two legends are Adam Scott, Justin Thomas, John Deere and Kevin Chappell.
BMW Group Malaysia will also be showcasing the 4 vehicles throughout the tournament grounds during the competition. The vehicles that would be displayed include the BMW 740Li, the BMW 520i M Sport, the BMW 328i Gran Turismo as well as the BMW 220i Gran Tourer. The all-new BMW 740Li is also the Hole-in-One Prize of the tournament.
