Toyota Astra Indonesia has introduced a stripped down version of the Vios in Indonesia, called the Limo.
Originally sold exclusively to taxi operators, the new Limo is now available for sale to private owners. This will be the cheapest variant of the Vios sold in Indonesia, with prices said to start from IDR 233,400,000 (RM74,652). The cheapest Vios in comparison, costs IDR 272,400,000 (RM87,078) for the 1.5 E M/T.
In order to achieve a low selling price, Toyota has removed a lot of accessories from the Vios. Out goes the side mirror mounted indicators, body coloured side mirrors and door handles, front fog lights, alloy wheels and body coloured rear number plate garnish. From the photos, it appears that even the reverse sensors are removed to keep costs down.
Inside, cost-cutting measures include replacing the fabric upholstery with vinyl ones, removal of the head unit and power window limited to the driver. Yes, the rest of the windows are of the hand crank type.
Buyers interested in the barebones Toyota Limo can opt for several colours, including white, blue, red, black and silver. The Toyota Limo can only be had with a manual transmission paired to a 1.5-litre engine.
