The 2017 Honda CR-V has been caught testing in the US, thanks to a reader of Temple of VTEC (TOV).
According to TOV, Honda is expected to debut the all-new CR-V after the new Odyssey premiers, however, it appears that dealers are expecting to receive the new CR-V ahead of the Odyssey.
This 2017 Honda CR-V mule appears to be clad in its production body, one that is likely to take the design cues from the tenth-generation Civic. The front end of the new CR-V is expected to receive the same design language as current Honda models, with a completely new rear end.
Apart from that, the all-new Honda CR-V will be larger than its outgoing model, both inside and out. Exterior wise, the new Honda CR-V is expected to be longer and wider than its predecessor. Moving inside, there is a possibility of Honda introducing a seven-seater variant of the new CR-V.
Under the hood, there is a possibility of the new Honda CR-V to receive its powered from the same engine that powers the new Civic, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a CVT. We could also see the new Honda CR-V offered with some naturally-aspirated engines, possibly the 2.0-litre i-VTEC unit that currently powers the CR-V.
If all goes as planned, we could see the 2017 Honda CR-V arriving at local shores as soon as late 2017. Stay tuned!
