Earlier today, we caught this Demak-badged bike roaming the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE).
Despite having a Demak emblem, we found out that this bike is in fact a Zontes S250, which comes from China. We initially thought that the bike was a Demak Skyline 250, but the general outlook of the bike was completely different.
According to Zontes, the S250 features a 250 cc DOHC four stroke engine that outputs 18 kW at 8,000 rpm and 23 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Power drives the rear wheel via a 6 speed gearbox.
The Zontes S250 features cross-drilled front and rear discs. Front suspension is telescopic while the rear gets a mono shock. In addition to that, the Zontes S250 gets a 110/70R17 tire up front with a 150/55R17 tire at the rear. Elsewhere, the frame of the Zontes is made out of high tensile steel, with LED illumination for the headlight, brake light and turning lights.
Currently, Zontes is not represented by anyone in Malaysia. Could the Chinese firm be eyeing the local market? Well, chances are high, as the Zontes S250 is priced at a competitive CNY 15,800 (RM9,668) in China. If priced competitively enough, the Zontes S250 could be an interesting option for those looking for an affordable naked sports bike.
