The very first Ford Mustang ever sold (+video)

The Ford Mustang was arguably one of the most anticipated car launches of all-time and believe it or not, the first Mustang owner was actually a 22-year old lady named Gail Wise who was looking for a vehicle to commute to work. When she went with her parents to a Ford dealership in her hometown, this beautiful Mustang convertible was waiting for her hidden in the back of the showroom.

She bought the Mustang on Wednesday, 15th April 1964, two days before the model was officially introduced during the New York World’s Fair on April 17. Gail bought the Mustang for USD3,400 with her teacher’s salary (USD1,500) and with a little help from her parents.

Her sky blue Mustang did cause a stir among automobile enthusiasts especially when she drove it around her neighborhood. Police would stop her pretending to give her a ticket and she was literally a ‘star’ among her friends and random pedestrians alike. Well, we couldn’t agree more that it is a car that you can’t help but fall in love with! Check out the video to hear more about Gail’s Mustang story.
