If you own the latest generation Porsche 911 GT3, you might want to read this. There have been reports of the new 911 GT3 catching fire, causing Porsche to put a stop to the sales of the 991 generation of the 911 GT3 model, to investigate this matter further.
The latest case in Switzerland occurred when the owner noticed the low oil pressure warning before the noises, smells, and then smoke emerged from the car. This led to the 911 GT3 catching fire, subsequently destroying the car as well. This is believed to be the fifth car in Europe to suffer such a similar fate.
Porsche has not made any official announcement on this, but has issued a Stop Sale alert through its European dealer network.
