Its no secret that Proton’s first rebadge from the Suzuki MoU is the Ertiga MPV. In fact, we’ve published photos of the said MPV undergoing road tests here.
Thanks to a news report from Kompas Otomotif, it appears that West Java-based Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) has filled the CKD export order for Proton’s upcoming MPV. SIS is said to be Proton’s CKD partner for the Ertiga MPV.
According to Davy Jeffry Tuilan, Deputy Managing Director of SIS, he mentioned that they are currently waiting for the order confirmation from Proton. He is expecting the confirmation to be done within the coming days.
Proton will rebadge the Suzuki Ertiga as its own once it arrives here, though SIS is not aware of the new MPV’s name. The new MPV, according to the same site, will be launched in Malaysia in October.
SIS expects to export 1,500 units of the Ertiga to Malaysia per month.
