Following our previous post, the Road Transport Department has announced that they will commence bookings for the “V” prefix number plates from today until July 28.
A source from JPJ said the new number plates are expected to begin rolling out from September this year; a month after the results for the booked numbers are released in mid-August.
If you’re interested to place your booking, you can submit your application for the “V” prefix to the Federal Territories RTD. Click here to download the application form.
The new prefix will replace the older prefix, algorithm and alphabet plates for KL-registered vehicles, such as “W 1 A”, which rolled out in September 2013.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Aziz Kaprawi said that the introduction of the “V” prefix number plates was to make it easier for the public and encourage car owners to bid for golden numbers, fancy numbers (two digit) and popular numbers (four digit).
