Good news folks! The first-ever sedan from Perodua, which was codenamed D63D, will be officially known as Bezza! Perodua will be offering five variants of the Bezza, which utilizes both a 1.0- and a 1.3-litre engine.
Thanks to our friends over at Carlist, we’ve managed to get a look at the Bezza’s specification sheet, which reveals much of the new sedan’s features.
In short, the Perodua Bezza can be had in three trims, namely the 1.0 Standard G, 1.3 Premium X and 1.3 Advance. All variants of the Bezza can be had with a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual, with the exception of the 1.3 Advance, which is an automatic -exclusive model.
The entry-level 1.0 model gets a similar engine as the one in the Axia, though Perodua has fitted the engine with VVT-i, similar to Toyota’s VVT-i nameplate. Thanks to the intelligent variable valve timing, the Bezza 1.0 now outputs 68 PS and 91 Nm. The 865 kg sedan, which Perodua claims sips just 4.4 litres/100 km, is the second car by Perodua to be EEV certified. The heavier automatic consumes 4.7 litres/100km, though Perodua has not specified which test cycle was used.
Moving to the 1.3 model, this engine makes use of a Dual VVT-i 1NR-VE engine, which outputs 95 PS and 121 Nm to the front wheels. Perodua claims that the larger engine sips just 4.6 litres/100km for the manual, while the automatic adds 0.2 litres to that figure. Thanks to Perodua’s Eco Idle feature, the Advance variant sips just 4.5 litre/100 km.
Highlights of the Perodua Bezza includes smart entry with push start button for all 1.3 models. In addition to that, the top-of-the-line Bezza Advance gets a touchscreen infotainment system with Smart Link, Perodua’s take on MirrorLink.
Elsewhere, the Bezza gets a large 508-litre boot, putting it ahead of the outgoing Saga’s 413 litres. Furthermore, the rear seats of the Bezza can be split folded 60:40, adding to the practicality of the small sedan. Perodua is also emphasizing on the safety of the Bezza, as all models get ABS and EBD. The Bezza Advance gets the addition of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), a first for our nation’s second national car maker.
