Bidding for the F1 has ended and the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has won the bid.
The Sultan secured the highly-sought after plate with a bid of RM836,660. The next plate, F2, went for RM514,800 while F7 went for RM396,000.
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) expected bids to reach as much as RM1 million for the F1 plate, though the target was not achieved this time around. In 2012, the Sultan of Johor paid RM520,000 for the WWW1 plate.
JPJ introduced the new plate format for Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya in mid May, whereby registration number of ‘F’ and ‘V’ will be assigned for Putrajaya and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur vehicles respectively.
