Honda Malaysia has officially unveiled the much-anticipated tenth-generation Honda Civic in Malaysia, with prices starting from just RM113,800.
Starting from the Civic 1.8, the entry-level model is powered by a 1.8-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 141 PS at 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm at 4,300 rpm. Sitting above that is the Civic 1.5 Turbo, as its name implies, is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 173 PS at 5,500 rpm and 220 Nm from 1,700 – 5,500 rpm. Both engines are paired to a Earth Dreams Technology CVT that drives the front wheels. The CVT, as from what we gathered, is cooled by the radiator.
A total of three variants will be made available, ranging from the sole naturally-aspirated Civic 1.8, to two variants of the turbocharged Civic 1.5, namely the Civic 1.5 and Civic 1.5 Premium. Standard kit across all variants include six airbags, rear air con vents, reverse camera, eight way power adjustable seats, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), tilt sensor, auto holding brake, remote start with walk away auto door lock, auto headlights, smart entry with push start button, cruise control, ECON button, full colour LCD meter, touch panel air conditioning control and a seven inch Display Audio infotainment system.
Sitting on top of the crop is the Civic 1.5 Turbo Premium. The Premium variant adds LED front head lights with LED daytime running lights with auto headlamp adjuster and dual zone automatic air-conditioning. The 7-inch Display Audio on the Civic 1.5 Turbo Premium also gets navigation.
A total of five colours are available for the new Civic, namely White Orchid Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic and Dark Ruby Red Pearl. Lunar Silver Metallic and White Orchid Pearl will eventually be offered on other Honda models in the near future.
Prices start from just RM113,800 for the entry-level Civic 1.8, while the Civic 1.5 Turbo will retail for RM127,800. The range-topping Civic 1.5 Turbo Premium has a price tag of RM135,800. All prices are OTR with insurance. Honda Malaysia expects to sell 1,200 units of the new Civic a month.
