According to a recent news report, road accidents were up by 3% to 489,606 cases last year compared with the year before and it has been on an upward trend year-on-year. Traffic volume increases on highways especially during festive seasons resulting in higher risks of accidents. With this safety awareness campaign, the automaker hopes to raise awareness on the importance of regular car maintenance to prevent untoward incidences and accidents.
“We hope our efforts will help curb the rising number of accidents especially on highways,” said Mr Lau YitMun, Managing Director of HSDM. “Road accidents are caused by many factors which include human errors and recklessness but a lot of times it has to do with poor car maintenance as well. The most common cause of car skidding is due to worn out brake pads and tyres.”
