Honda has released a design sketch as a preview of next generation Civic Type-R. At first glance, there are some aggressive angles and arches seen on the exterior, and even the wheel arches looked like a WTCC replica. The four exhaust pipes mean business as this Civic Type R is rumored to be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged VTEC unit, with claims it can deliver up to 300 HP.
The hot hatch from Japan is set to be revealed during next month’s Geneva Motor Show, and it will be for sale in 2015. The predecessor version of the Civic Type R has played second fiddle in the hot hatch category compared to established turbocharged hatches like Volkswagen Golf GTI and Renault Megane RS. To coin the term “If you can’t beat’em, join ’em” pretty much fits Honda’s decision for the turbocharged VTEC. For that we can’t wait to see that.
