Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has just took delivery of 100 brand-spanking-new units of the Toyota Hilux at a ceremony held this morning at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Selangor. And that’s just the first batch!
The keys were handed over by Encik Mohd Shamsor Mohd Zain (above left), Director of Operations Support Group, UMW Toyota Motor to Encik Mohd Adibi bin Ambak, Senior General Manager,Department of Procurement and Vendor Management Distribution Division, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
Encik Mohd Shamsor said, “I am very honoured as in a short while, we will witness the handling over of 100 units of Toyota Hilux to Tenaga Nasional Berhad and the balance 192 units will be delivered in stages. Thank you for choosing Toyota Hilux and for the continuous strong support you have in UMW Toyota Motor.”
He added, “Tenaga Nasional Berhad is the largest electricity utility company in Malaysia and also the largest power company in Southeast Asia. TNB’s core activities are in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. The demand of their day-to-day business operations depend highly on reliable and durable vehicles. Hence, we are sure the Toyota Hilux we supplied meets the quality, reliability and specifications required by TNB.”
Since its introduction in 2005, over 180,000 units of the current generation Toyota Hilux have been sold in Malaysia, making it the best-selling pick-up truck here. UMW Toyota Motor will also include a dedicated after-sales service, timely vehicle delivery and technical training. In total, TNB has booked 292 units of the Toyota Hilux.
