Found on What A Car‘s Facebook page, it looks like Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is preparing their high performance AMG GT S local launch. Considering that the spied car isn’t covered, this may be an official teaser from Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
A little background story for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is developed in-house by Mercedes-AMG. This is the second car to be developed by Mercedes-AMG after the mighty SLS AMG.
Powering the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S is a 4.0-litre (3,982 cc) M178 twin-turbocharged V8 with 510 PS at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm till 4,750 rpm. The AMG GT S is rear wheel drive and features a 7-speed AMG Speedshift dual clutch transmission. An electronic limited slip differential is fitted to the AMG GT S model. From standstill this performance Mercedes-Benz can crack 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 310 km/h.
Could Mercedes-Benz be accelerating the Porsche 911 fighter? After all, BMW Malaysia has already launched their i8 halo car to the Malaysian market recently.
