According to Proton, 2016 will be the company’s ‘changing point’, as they will be launching not one or two models, but four new models this year!
Thanks to our friends over at Funtasticko, we have the first good look at the upcoming 2016 Proton Saga’s front end.
The front end, as we can see, looks rather similar to the outgoing Proton Saga FLX, with two large head lights flanking the signature Proton grille. Unlike the current Saga’s single chrome front grille, the 2016 Saga appears to have twin slates across the front grille. From the body cladding, it appears that the Saga’s front foglights could feature some massive surrounds, though it could be a disguise to throw us off. Proton has also redesigned the rear end, and it appears that the Saga may feature a rear fog light.
From what we gathered, the 2016 Proton Saga is said to utilize the outgoing Saga’s platform, albeit with more strengthening and various enhancements. The new Proton Saga, when it comes out later this year, could utilize the Proton Iriz’s 1.3-litre VVT engine. Being the company’s bread and butter model, expect the Saga to be featured with a five-speed manual and a CVT, though it is unknown at this point, who will be supplying the new transmission.
Stay tuned for more updates!
