Photos of the second-generation Proton Perdana has emerged in the trailer of the upcoming movie, Kapsul. Found on the movie’s official Facebook page, the short trailer does gives us a good look at the new Perdana’s rear end.
Proton has said that much of the new Perdana has been redesigned, and we especially love the rear three-quarters of the Perdana. The rear light design is heavily-inspired by the Jaguar XF, which gives the Perdana an upmarket appeal. The new Perdana rides on the 8th-generation Honda Accord’s platform. The doors are unmistakably from the Honda Accord, though the longer D-pillar is new.
The Perdana emblem can clearly be seen in the short trailer, which means that like the Saga, Proton has retained another iconic nameplate for its D-segment model. Chrome bits and pieces are found generously on the new Perdana, including the side windows, between the rear lights and the rear reflector surrounds. The rear lights are LED units, including the third brake light. A pair of muffler can be found below the rear reflectors.
The movie will officially debut today, and Proton may revise the final design of the new Perdana. Word has it that Proton will be launching the new Perdana next year, with engines likely to be supplied by Honda.
