Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia has just launched the refreshed 2015 Mitsubishi ASX compact SUV into our market.
With the introduction of the enhanced ASX, the company has also added a new level entry variant called the 2WD GL. In total there’s three variants for buyers to choose from, either in two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
The stylish compact SUV now comes with refreshed exterior features for 4WD and 2WD incorporating Daytime Running Lights and Shark Fin Antenna. The ASX 4WD on the other hand, now comes with 7 airbags including Dual, Side, Curtains and Knee Airbags and two-toned 17-inch alloy rims. A new colour called Sporty Blue is now available for the ASX, besides Titanium Grey, Cool Silver and Solid White.
Inside the cabin, buyers of the 4WD and 2WD ASX will be able to find a new touch screen located on the dashboard, along with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, a navigation system, a new center console design, piano black door switch panel as well as a Virtual Acoustic Positioning System (VAPS) which provides surround sound stage audio for an excellent interior acoustic experience.
Under the hood, power is supplied by a 2.0-litre MIVEC engine with an output of 150 PS and 197 Nm of torque. According to the automaker, the enhanced INVECS-III CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) with Sports Mode now allows better acceleration and fuel efficiency.
Standard equipment for all three variants of the ASX (ASX 4WD, 2WD and 2WD GL) include leather seats, automatic air conditioning, coloured Multi-Info Display and auto retractable side mirrors whilst touch screen entertainment system is standard for the 2WD and 4WD variants. Meanwhile, the 4WD adds in keyless entry with push-start operation, cruise control and paddle shifters as standard feature.
In terms of safety, the compact SUV comes equipped with ABS and EBD across all variants, while the 4WD variant adds on Mitsubishi’s All Wheel Control 4WD System, Active Stability Control (ASC), Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist (HSA) as standard feature.
The enhanced ASX is now open for booking with a starting price of RM104,791 for the ASX 2WD GL,
RM 112,571 for the he ASX 2WD and RM125,040 for the ASX 4WD. All prices are inclusive of GST for private registration in Peninsular Malaysia.
