Hyundai is set to debut their next-generation Elantra, which they have conveniently teased via this rendering. The good news is that this rendering shows the new Elantra is almost production ready.
Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai said, “The subtle and innovative appearance enhancements reflect Hyundai Motor’s vision for design. Furthermore, this car indicates a move from traditional to modern styling by communicating the new model’s comfort, fashion and sporty feel.”
Rumoured to debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November, the new Elantra will feature “creatively designed wheel arches” and sit in “a class of its own“. The Elantra sees the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Nissan Sylphy, Mazda 3, Ford Focus and the Kia Cerato as its key rivals in its segment.
Power will come from a 1.6-litre T-GDI engine which produces 175 hp which is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Hold your horses, as engine choices may vary from market to market. The same goes to the gearbox choice.
