If you recall, last year we mentioned that Infiniti Malaysia planned to introduce a gigantic-sized SUV called QX80 to the Malaysian market to complete its SUV line up. Well, the wait is finally over as the Infiniti QX80 is officially here and priced at RM799,000 on-the-road without insurance!
According to the folks at Infiniti, “The QX80 is conceived to attract and hold viewers’ attention, conveying its underlying sense of power and strength“. Well, isn’t it obvious, with its quirky design, and gigantic size, it’s pretty hard to not notice!
“The QX80’s majestic presence and gigantic size makes it the largest SUV officially available for sale in Malaysia,” said Christopher Tan, Head of Infiniti Business Unit. “There’s also a remarkable level of flat ride comfort, plenty of power and torque, and a solid feel throughout the vehicle that’s reassuring and enjoyable for all passengers. It’s the perfect luxury SUV for CEOs, captains and leaders of industry who demand the best performance and security in their SUV.”
In terms of styling, the signature front double arch and wave pattern grille mirroring the bold style of the popular Q50 sports sedan. The front fascia also features new LED high/low beam headlights that illuminate with Infiniti’s distinct ‘brow-and-eye’ daytime running lights.
Other notable exterior features include body coloured front and rear overfenders integrated with a full length running board, a massive 22-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels, large stainless rear bumper scuff protector and a power rear liftgate.
As mentioned earlier, power comes from a 5.6-litre V8 engine combines the responsive acceleration of Infiniti’s VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) technology with the efficiency of Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) to produce 405 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. The V8 engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) and manual shift mode with Downshift Rev matching (DRM).
The QX80 is offered with standard four-wheel drive, featuring Infiniti’s proven All-Mode 4WD system with Auto, 4H, and 4L modes.
The QX80’s cabin is obviously pretty spacious and can accommodate up to 8 occupants at the same time. It’s luxurious semi-aniline leather-appointed seating is standard for 8 occupants to divulge while climate-controlled (heating and cooling functions) front seats are standard as well as heated 2nd row seats. The 2nd row 60/40 split with remote release switches offer tip-up function for easy 3rd row entry/exit. The 3rd row seat is a 60/40-split power folding design with reclining capability, allowing passengers to adjust their seating position electronically.
There are also plenty of entertainment and audio available in the QX80 such as Bose Cabin Surround sound system, 15-speakers, DVD/CD player with MP3 playback capability, USB connection port for use with iPod Interface or other compatible devices and Streaming Audio via Bluetooth. Apart from that, there’s an 8-inch high resolution colour touch-screen display, dual 7-inch color headrest monitors, two pairs of wireless headphones, wireless remote control. The two 7-inch colour monitors include an auto-bright system that adjusts for daytime, clouds/evening and night/tunnel lighting.
The QX80 comes en suite with Driver Assistance Package offering extensive advance technology system such as:

Fully imported from Japan the QX80 is now open for booking and are available in 4 exterior colours namely; Majestic White, Graphite Shadow, Dark Currant and Black Obsidian. Interior colour comes in graphite leather-appointed seating with Stratford Burl trim.
