The all-new Honda Civic Type R that’s causing palpitations among petrol-heads everywhere has finally shown its face to the world, in a series of leaked and official photos of the production model. And yes, the excitement was warranted because it looks absolutely stunning!
The production model of the new Honda Civic Type R carried over much of the styling cues from the concept model, but loses the swollen rear fenders and the flashy front headlights. Also dropped on the production model are the tail lights that was integrated with the rear spoiler.
The interior sports a pair body-hugging semi bucket seats, with a nice short throw manual shifter. The rest of the interior has the usual Type R sporty red stitching all around.
Petrol-heads will revel because the new Honda Civic Type R packs quite a punch; it gets a turbocharged 2.0-litre iVTEC engine under the hood, which was said to produce in excess of 280 horses. Unlike the Ford Focus RS, the Honda Civic Type R gets its power transferred to the front wheels only.
The new Honda Civic Type R will make a global debut at the 85th Geneva Motor Show.
