At the ongoing 2015 Bangkok Motor Show, Toyota has taken the wraps off the facelifted Camry Extremo.
Sharing the same spotlight with the Corolla Nürburgring Edition, Toyota’s Camry Extremo is a permanent offering in the Thai market for those who want their mid-size sedan with a sportier appearance. It was recently facelifted and despite the moniker, it isn’t at all extreme as power comes from the familiar 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine. However, Toyota has increased the motor’s output by 20 bhp and 9Nm so it is now capable of delivering a total of 167 bhp and 199 Nm of torque mated to a new 6-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of design, the front end of the Camry Extremo is characterized by a large trapezoidal grille that also integrates the fog lamps in the lower fascia, a sleek upper grille with projector headlamps, and aggressive side air intakes. The rear bumper houses a sporty diffuser and dual exhaust pipes.
Inside, the Extremo comes with new standard and optional features such as ventilated front seats, 3-zone air conditioning system, adaptive cruise control, and a docking station Qi Wireless charging for supported devices.
The Toyota Camry Extremo is slotted underneath the Camry 2.5G and it is priced at THB 1.429 million (RM160,909). Closer to home, UMW Toyota Motor will unveil the facelifted Camry and the all-new Camry Hybrid on 2nd April 2015 so stay tuned for more updates!
