A few hours following the successful kickoff to the 2014/2015 Bundesliga season, players and officials of FC Bayern München had the opportunity of another ‘key experience.’ On the premises of the Audi driving experience center in Neuburg, the Chairman of Audi’s Board of Management Rupert Stadler handed over the new official cars to the German record champion this Saturday. Afterwards, a driver safety training session was on the agenda.
“FC Bayern, like Audi, is a brand of worldwide renown. We share a hunger for success. The record champion has been doing well for years, traveling in our cars,” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG.
The new RS 7 Sportback 4.0 TFSI was on the top of the wish list seven times, while the Audi RS 6 Avant 4.0 TFSI was the car of choice four times. The world champions Philipp Lahm, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller, as well as coach Pep Guardiola, opted for the sporty Avant. During the car handover, the Munich squad was busy signing autographs before moving on to the second highlight: the participation in an Audi driving experience. In groups of three, the professional soccer players tackled various driving situations on the driver training grounds in Neuburg. On the handling course at the wheel of the Audi R8 sports car, the Bayern players had the opportunity to prove their driving dynamics skills guided by experienced Audi instructors. And on an off-road course in the Audi A6 allroad, they were able to get a first-hand impression of the numerous advantages of quattro drive.
The German record champion has been continually driving premium automobiles from Ingolstadt since 2002 and Audi has since acquired a stake in the club as well. The brand provides 50 cars to FC Bayern, is featured at the Allianz Arena at all Bundesliga matches, at the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt, plus at numerous other events. In return, the FC Bayern squad keeps visiting Audi events such as the DTM or the Ski World Cup. The passion for the club is deeply rooted in the workforce: with more than 5,000 members, the ‘Audi Fanclub FC Bayern’ numbers among the largest ones in the world.
