The round two of the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship in the streets of Putrajaya, Malaysia has been postponed to November to allow the attendance of the Malaysian Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak. The race in Putrajaya, originally scheduled for October 18th 2014, will be pushed to 22nd November 2014.
Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said: “The Prime Minister has been fundamental to the FIA Formula E Championship racing in Malaysia and, following lengthy consultation with the FIA and the local motorsport federation, Formula E has decided to honour the request to reschedule the Putrajaya ePrix.”
However, Malaysia will remain as the second round of the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship, a new single-seater race series that’s focused on electric car racing on urban street circuits. Also, the revised date will be the day before the Formula One finale takes place in Abu Dhabi. But for race fans like us, that’s good news, it will be a weekend for us to remember.
